A Million Smiles Association Co-Organizes Training Seminar With ATRUD

Gender-based violence is prevalent in rural areas in Cameroon and young mothers are the most vulnerable group.

At the heart of a remote community in Cameroon (Penamboko), A Million Smiles Association was able to partner with ATRUD in the mobilization of women, girls, men and boys for talks on Menstrual Hygiene Management, Female Reproductive Health and Gender-based violence after which a distribution of over 200 sanitary pads was done. This was in line to address the stigmas attached to menstruation and restoring privacy and dignity for the girl child.

The Association for Training and Rural Development (ATRUD) was represented at the event by Area Manager Ms. Ateh Gillien.
